Payroll Assistant - Part Time
£27k pro rated 22.5 hours/pw
London

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Part Time Payroll Assistant to join a client of mine based in London. Although Part Time, this role will require you to be in the office 3 days a week (splitting the hours over 3 days) Please email your CV to shendl.van-wyk@investigo.co.uk

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with all aspects of UK payroll processing for approx. 650 employees across 5 payrolls
  • Liaise with outsourced payroll provider.
  • Process all statutory payments and carry out manual calculations if needed
  • Experience of dealing with season ticket loans, cycle to work and AEO
  • Collect and process all variable pay items (commission, overtime, expenses etc.)
  • Ensure employees are enrolled into pension as appropriate and all changes are captured In the payroll
  • Ensuring monthly pension contributions are paid over to meet pension regulators deadline for 2 pension schemes
  • Understanding of calculation of statutory payments such as SSP, SMP and SPP
  • Support with year-end process including producing P11D's, P60's.
  • Assist with the German payroll preparation for 40 employees when required. (Training will be provided )
  • Liaise with HR business partner in Germany to ensure all changes are captured and transferred to Celergo

Reporting

  • Assist with journal preparation for monthly payroll journals
  • Answer and prepare ad hoc salary data request from wider finance team
  • Prepare and submit employee reports as required
  • Support with ensuring that all payroll and tax queries are answered in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with HMRC to ensure all enquiries are answered.
  • Communicate with the various benefits providers to update starters and leavers as appropriate
  • Ensure pension providers are updated with all employee data changes on a monthly basis

Candidate Specification:

  • At least 2+ years experience processing monthly UK payroll
  • Good understanding of UK PAYE legislation, RTI and pension auto enrolment
  • Experience working with payroll systems - Previous experience of ADP iHCM / Celergo or ADP multi country an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft excel including V look ups is essential
  • Ability to respond in a clear professional manner to any queries
  • Understanding of benefits reporting Desirable
