Lead IT Business Analyst - Public Sector Client

  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Salary: £58,000-61,000k + Benefits
  • Working practices: Minimum 2 days per week on site
  • Location: Birmingham
  • Experience needed: Need someone who has proven experience of managing or building a BA function, have managed people & teams and who have excellent senior stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to present to senior stakeholders in the business.

Our public sector client is on the looking for an experience Lead Business Analyst to join through an exciting time. This role is for a high calibre individual, leading the IT Business Analysis team, charged with undertaking a critical and continual reviews of business processes across the organisation and on the analytical delivery of major organisational process improvement initiatives. The role will lead IT continuous improvement and change management, including identifying and evaluating opportunities for business-led technological improvements.

Key responsibilities;

  • Manage the IT Business Analysis team following good management practices, ensuring senior managers and the wider team are motivated and meet their objectives. Develop the wider team's skillset in line with the professional development requirements for IT, including programme and project management.
  • To lead the Business Analysts Working Group including promoting effective communication and buy in between IT and business teams.
  • To identify, design and oversee in partnership with teams, IT developments for benefit of staff e.g. improvements to CRM.
  • To design a service catalogue process as directed by the Head of IT including completion of comprehensive "as is" and "to be" process maps.
  • Lead on the IT Change Management process. Be responsible for the management of the IT Change Advisory Board, coordinate and administer the IT Change Request process.

Essential personal specifications;

  • Demonstrable business process analysis and re-engineering skills with the ability to transform the efficiency of administrative processes, including customer service transactions, maximising productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and transparency.
  • Proven experience of managing or building a Business Analyst function, and proven line management experience in training junior members.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement, including listening, negotiating and interpretation, establishing rapport, understanding needs and reaching agreement with others. Able to adapt working style and communications appropriately to different levels.
  • Design and execution of tailored engagement plans for key stakeholders, working closely with cross-functional colleagues to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in business processes, working methodologies & behaviours, seeking alignment with complimentary or related initiatives.
