Job description

Investigo are working with a Membership body in London who require a Finance Business Partner

Purpose of the role:

To provide a complete Finance Business Partnering service to budget holders and other colleagues:

- preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets

- costing and financial appraisal of existing and new products and services

- provision of advice and pro-active support to budget holders and colleagues

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts and quarterly forecasts for allocated parts of the business. This will include:
  • the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • the preparation and posting of journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and prepayments.
  • manage the completion of related balance sheet reconciliations to set deadlines.
  • monthly meetings with budget holders and managers to review monthly and YTD performance, to investigate variances, and to identify risks and opportunities.
  • analysis and explanation of variances to budget and forecast.
  • the provision of detailed and summary analysis, in numerical, graphical, and written form, as appropriate.
  • monitoring and reporting on restricted funds.
  • tracking and reporting on capital expenditure.
  1. Leading on financial aspects of business cases including costing complex proposals and reviewing the development of existing products and services.
  2. Presenting accounts and forecasts to senior colleagues in the Finance Department.
  3. Providing pro-active support and analysis for budget holders, to help them to understand income performance and to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of their expenditure. This may involve diplomatic challenge to budget holder assumptions.
  4. Taking time to understand the issues for departments allocated to colleagues. This may include chairing meetings to discuss financial aspects of activities relating to several departments and involving several budget holders.
  5. Assisting with the production of the annual budget and longer-term business planning.
  6. Assisting with statutory reporting and annual audit.
  7. Approving payments in the banking portal.
  8. Any other work as requested by senior colleagues in the Finance Department and elsewhere in the organisation.
