Challenging times – but exciting times
Having come through an incredibly tough 2020, I don’t think anyone could have predicted such a positive and impressive year for our industry and the Investigo Group. The dedication and hard work of our people last year has been rewarded, the market has returned with a vengeance and the demand from our clients has dramatically increased. As a result, we have seen all four brands in the Investigo Group experience an amazing 12 months, which has resulted in our best year ever!
I’ve always believed you learn more about yourself and the business you work for in the tough times, than you do in the good times. What last year has proved is we have a fantastic group of talented people, willing to go the extra mile when needed and who care deeply about the business they work for.
We have achieved our highest rating in the recent Best Companies report for the first time. Our accreditation is the highest standard of workplace engagement awarded by Best Companies, representing the organisations that truly excel. It’s a testament to our brilliant people, who have remained engaged, committed and determined to provide the best possible service to our clients and candidates in very challenging circumstances.
A year ago, physical events seemed like a long way off. Whilst our webinars and roundtables proved extremely successful, nothing can quite replace actual physical interaction and we’ve been very happy to resume physical client events this year. Our recent charity quiz was not only a fantastic opportunity to see many of our clients in person, but the evening raised over £30,000 for our charity partner St Mungo’s – the most we’ve ever raised from this event!
We’ve never lost sight of our commitment to expanding our business and increasing the breadth of services we offer to our clients. There are now more than 300 people who work across the Investigo Group, compared to 230 people in March 2020. We were delighted to launch Definia in July, the rebrand of our existing and established consulting brand, to help emphasise and reflect its already strong and distinct identity. We have opened two new offices this year. We opened our Midlands office at the beginning of 2021, specialising in Technology and Transformation recruitment across the Midlands and the North of England. Followed by the May launch of our Philadelphia office to strengthen our growing US business, focusing on Technology and Medical Communications recruitment. The future looks very exciting for our group, and we have some very ambitious plans for 2022 and beyond.
As the recent headlines have proven, unfortunately, Covid isn’t going away anytime soon and there will be some challenging times ahead. But we are confident we have the right strategy and people to navigate through these trickier times and we will continue to push forward.
I’d like to wish all our employees, our clients, candidates and partners a fantastic Christmas break. Thank you for all your support over the last year, enjoy your time with your friends and families and we look forward to collaborating with you in the year ahead.
