Job description

Senior Unified Communications Engineer

York- Hybrid - 2 days a week onsite

The role and its direct reports will be responsible for customer facing Unified Network based services such as Unified Communications, Telephony, Mobile Services and Video Conferencing.

Development of the UC network strategy including network design and roadmap.

  • Day to day operational performance of the UC network to agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Changes to the UC network to meet ongoing business demands.
  • Delivering continuous service improvement
  • Emergency response to critical incidents.



KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting/managing UC networks and platforms for a large multi-site organisation.
  • Experience working with Ring Central or other cloud based telephony systems such as 8x8
  • Experience working with On Prem phone systems - such as Avaya, Cisco
  • Desirable - Mobile Management DDI
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Experience of running and developing network security
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering to and maintaining a UC strategy.
  • Proven technical experience of local area networks, internet services, telephone systems, call centre services, mobile services, video conferencing, telephony and other hardware and software.
  • Experience of working with Third party providers of UC services.
  • Unified communications solution implementation and service delivery.
  • Managing and delivering fixed line and NGN/VGN services.
  • Delivering mobile technology (hardware and services).
  • Video conferencing solution architecture and delivery.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong demonstrable experience of managing/leading a UC network team.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage different audiences at all levels.
  • Able to demonstrate innovation by delivering ways of improving service quality, performance and resilience.
  • Able to work under pressure with ability to multi-task in a demanding environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CCNA Voice.
  • M365 - Teams Voice Engineer or equivalent. (MS-720, 721).
  • ITIL - V3/V4 Foundation.
  • RingCentral certification - Desirable
