Job description

A well-known and prestigious University based in central London is seeking to recruit a Product Manager who has a background and experience in Estates for an initial 9 month contract to start in October.

You will have strong prior experience working in an Estates environment, ideally in a Buildings / Property / Housing Association and have a digital service management background with a strong working understanding of an Estates division.
You will be a user-centric Product Manager who is able to work with different user groups, have excellent discovery experience, problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise where need be.

Essential Skills -

As part of your role with the university, you will be working in an Agile environment so being an Agile Practitioner is preferred.
The ideal Product Manager will also essentially have strong product vision and product road map experience, being able to manage back log and KPIs. This will be clearly evidenced from prior roles and experience.

Being responsible to the Senior Product Manager, working in a matrix management team, the purpose of the Product Manager role will be to build a deep understanding of the customer and business objectives that a product or feature will fulfil within the Estates area. Your role will oversee the Product Strategy, Product Delivery and Product Lifecycle keeping a Product mindset at all times.
As well as having excellent stakeholder management skills, you will have clear communication skills, being able to articulate how value has been added from a user's perspective.

Key Duties and Responsibilities -

- Contribute to the product strategy - ensuring the product works for the customers and the wider business and develop a prioritised roadmap in partnership with university stakeholders.
- Bring an Agile Product Management development approach, adding value and remaining user centric at all times.
- Solicit, write and prioritise user stories for the Estates area.
- Lead product discovery phases, ensuring the right products and features are being built for the customer base.
- Lead the approach for embedding a product into a service bringing users along the journey.
- Lead and champion a user-centred, iterative approach to service/product development.

This is a busy and exciting contract role where you will utilise pre-existing Product management experience within an Estates environment, having the autonomy to lead on the Estates Product area whilst being supported by the Senior Product Manager and wider team.

If interested in this role, and available to start as soon as possible, please apply today with a view to interview WC Monday 16th September and to start beginning of October. Must be happy to travel to site in zone 1 in London twice a week.
