Job description
My client is a leading Professional Services organisation based in London and is currently looking to recruit an Interim FD as they embark on a period of growth. With expanding international operations, my client is committed to driving growth, fostering client relationships, and maintaining financial integrity.
As the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, optimising financial performance, and ensuring compliance across our UK and international entities. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, providing strategic guidance, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Provide insightful recommendations to optimise financial performance and support decision-making processes
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
- Implement effective cash management strategies to optimise cash utilisation and mitigate risks.
- Identify opportunities to improve cash flow efficiency and minimise financial costs.
Risk Management:
- Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate exposure to market, credit, and operational risks.
- Establish internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with risk management frameworks and recommend adjustments as necessary.
Financial Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior management on financial matters, including investment decisions, pricing strategies, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and support business growth objectives.
International Finance Management:
- Oversee financial operations for international entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate currency risk management strategies and optimise financial structures to support international expansion.
- Partner with local finance teams / to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance financial transparency.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the Professional Services industry or related services sector.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage teams and drive results in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing international finance operations and familiarity with FRS102 accounting standards is highly desirable.
