Financial Accountant - Financial Services - Canary Wharf - up to £85,000

Join a dynamic team as a Financial Accountant and become a key player in the Finance function, working on a number of projects as well as BAU work. This role is perfect for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a proven track record in financial services, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about accuracy and efficiency.
As the Financial Accountant, you will have overall responsibility for the Group Fixed Asset register, ensuring that journals are posted accurately and consistently in accordance with cost capitalisation, CAPEX transfers, and fixed asset register requirements. You will lead monthly Fixed Asset review meetings in collaboration with the Financial Control and Business Partnering teams, fostering strong working relationships and driving alignment between finance and project management.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing month-end close activities, such as asset additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations, as well as reconciling fixed asset-related accounts for internal and external audit purposes. Additionally, you will review, analyze, and evaluate financial data and information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency, while implementing process improvements to enhance reporting and internal control procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with post-qualified experience in Financial Services / Financial Technology.
- Experience in project accounting and management accounts, coupled with the ability to build strong working relationships with both finance and non-finance teams.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Able to meet deadlines with a keen attention to detail.
- Sound commercial judgement
- Strong Excel skills for data manipulation and reconciliations
