Job description

Newly created role as Financial Accountant required for highly successful business in the Technology sector based in Luton.

My client has an excellent working culture and I see this is the perfect opportunity for a qualified accountant looking for a broad role to gain the experience required to become a future Financial Controller.

Overview

  • To support the Group Financial Controller in ensuring that all the financial accounting records are maintained in line with both internal company policy and UK accounting standards.
  • Liaising with global finance teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of requests.
  • To ensure that the company financial systems are accurately recording transactions for the company.
  • To help implement system changes due to the impact of any changes in accounting standards.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate filing of statutory returns.
  • To ensure that systems and reporting developments are applied and implemented in line with the needs of the company.
  • Ensure all VAT reporting and tax compliance is completed and filed on time.

Key Responsibilities

Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To report on a consolidated monthly balance sheet and cash flow for the group, including the review and collation of regional submissions in accordance with IFRS.
  • Review of weekly cashflow forecast for the Group.
  • Collating and providing information requests as part of the year end audit process to external auditors.
  • Assisting in drafting all UK statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and relevant notes in time for filing with Companies house.
  • Preparation and posting of month end journals into Netsuite.
  • Maintain the intercompany reconciliation across the Group and resolve any differences.
  • Carry out revaluations of accounts at month end.
  • Monthly completion and collation of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Group Financial Controller.
  • Preparation of all monthly/quarterly VAT returns UK and Lithuania.
  • Preparation of PSA (PAYE and NICs).
  • Preparation of the tax pack and analysis of accounts for preparation of tax computations.
  • Perform annual impairment reviews of all CGUs with Group Financial Controller.
  • Preparation of Budget and Forecast Balance Sheet and Cashflow reports.
  • The opportunity to be involved in new processes and process improvement projects.
  • Carry out any reasonable project work / ad hoc tasks as requested.
  • Supporting the team as required, providing cover for team members in times of absence (cash and banking, AP and AR).

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with one to three years post qualified experience, although candidates looking to make a first move into industry will be considered.
