Financial Accountant

An Interim Financial Accountant for a FTSE 100 London based Retail business. An organisation with a large finance team, who pride themselves on great benefits, company culture and progression opportunities.

Initially a 12 month fixed term contract with the view it will become a permanent position. A hybrid working model with 3 days per week in London.

The role is working to strengthen the Financial Control of the business. The successful candidate will provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders in order to drive improvement in the balance sheet.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

• Run and interpret management reporting to provide analysis and commentary to stakeholders on the performance of the Balance Sheet
• Champion the Balance Sheet Reconciliation policy
• Identify risks, anomalies and opportunities
• Analyse balance sheet reconciliations as required to drive improvements
• Liaise with colleagues to complete analysis on reconciliations, to resolve business problems
• Ad hoc management of balance sheet reporting
• Build business cases relating to continuous improvement

The successful candidate must posses

• Full Accountancy Qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong Excel skills (including lookups and pivot tables)
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Strong commercial acumen
• Strong eye for detail and accuracy
