Data Services Delivery Manager

Permanent

Remote Based

The Role:

  • Working in a key role within Data Services, the Data Services Delivery Manager will underpin data product delivery with internal teams and customers.
  • The role holder will own and manage the backlog of work items, supporting the Lead Data Engineer and working with a team of internal engineers through the software change cycle, typically managing agile development of software.
  • The role holder will also manage the gathering and documenting of requirements from the business, assisted by the rest of the Data Services team to translate them into technical requirements.
  • The role holder will also own the DevOps processes, continuously evaluating and improving processes to enhance efficiency, including maintenance of the backlog reporting to the IT Director.
  • Working with the team to facilitate smooth execution, as well as identifying bottlenecks and removing obstacles.
  • Work with the key market unit stakeholders, including directors of IT, transformation and service leads to define the roadmap for the data product(s).
  • Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality and passed through each development phase as needed, dev/systems test, UAT, pre-prod and prod.
  • The role holder will also be responsible for ensuring the Data Change Advisory Board processes are being adhered to.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience as a significant role, BA/PM/Product Owner on formal Data/IT/digital projects delivery
  • Experience working in a defined role facilitating/key role on an agile/software delivery and SDLC such as SCRUM prioritising work and protecting development based on business need.
  • A proven track record of significant contributions in significantly helping capturing requirements, documenting, and tracing from idea to delivery.
  • Agile project management tools, DevOps/Jira, including reporting, systems changes and iteration management.
  • A robust understanding of applied IT project management delivery methods, Agile, SCRUM and Waterfall.
