Cyber Security Officer (junior role)

A Further Education College based in Watford are seeking to recruit a Cyber Security Officer on a permanent basis to join an already established team that is looking to grow and strengthen their security function. This is a junior role that would suit someone who has a few months / 1 year experience in a Cyber Security role or is a new graduate who has studied Cyber Security.

Reporting to the Head of IT Governance, the role will support the provision of IT cyber security and compliance (including legal and regulatory). This remit spans all infrastructure and application services provided by the college.

Despite the role sitting in the technology team, it is a role where the majority of the time you will be writing reports, doing research around certifying the organisation with cyber essentials, setting up testing and audits, managing phishing campaigns and supporting on asset management.

You will also need to have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and be happy to liaise with suppliers and other teams where required regularly.

The role is 5 days on site each week and may require you to go to the college's other two sites based in Luton / Hemel Hempstead occasionally but the majority of your role will be based in Watford.

This role is a busy role where you will be involved in lots of different duties and responsibilities but is a role that is junior and will not be overly technical though you will be working as part of the technology team and gain exposure to cyber whilst learning in the role. The role is very much involved in writing reports, looking at audits and asset management over other key skills.
