Commercial Finance Analyst
up to £50k DOE
Hybrid working (1 day in, 4 from home)
West London
Graduate with min 2 years commercial finance experience

This role requires strong commercial awareness, attention to detail, excellent analytical skills and the ability to influence a wide variety of stakeholders. It will be working closely with business partners in the Head office teams as well as at the schools.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Own the monthly reporting/forecasting and budgeting for the central cost functions. Business partner with budget holders to produce robust budgets, identify key trends and variances to budget and update forecasts monthly.
  • Own the catering budgets/forecast process, working alongside our key suppliers to ensure accurate monthly reporting of catering spend and identify any opportunities for cost efficiency
  • Own the Group Recharges budget and work with Group Finance to understand variances and outline areas of improvement.
  • Supporting Commercial Finance Manager in financial analysis and executive reporting for the business
  • Supporting the team in implementation of NSPB (Netsuite Planning & Budgeting) which is a new reporting system being implemented recently
  • Development of clear and insightful month end reporting and KPIs
  • Support non-financial stakeholders by translating financial data into actionable insights to drive decision-making
  • Continuous improvement of month end reporting and forecasting processes
  • Adhoc analysis and projects

Candidate Specification:

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a desire to learn and drive process improvements
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage ongoing duties with contribution to projects and ad-hoc requirements
  • Team player with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
  • Management Reporting & variance/trend analysis - ability to 'tell the story'
  • Experience of power queries and/or macros for Excel
  • Experience in process improvement initiatives and systems implementation.
  • Experience of with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Graduate with relevant work experience
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA part-qualified OR desire to study for accountancy qualification. Study support provided
  • Proven experience (+2 years) in a commercial finance or financial analysis role.
