Buyer

An exciting opportunity to join a distribution business as a Buyer to cover a 12-month maternity cover.

Meet internal sales requirements for stock and fulfilment of "back to back" orders by way of raising/transmitting to suppliers POs at the best possible price or the agreed contractual terms and price and pushing for acceptable delivery lead time (often gaining multiple quotes to achieve required outcome).

Expediting open supplier orders to ensure our customer commitments are met.

Booking in deliveries of stock - and resolving any associated supplier issues.

Effective inventory control: Manage inventory: increase stock turn frequency and action rotations back to suppliers.

Performance management of allocated suppliers: Reduce costs with each supplier ,Best pricing and minimising/eradicating freight charges, Payment terms, Rebates.

Supplier performance: Work to achieve continual improvement of through ongoing reviews of delivery accuracy and speed.

Deliver excellent customer service and communication to internal and external contacts.

Liaise with sales divisions, suppliers, warehouse, POM to manage and achieve effective completion of workload.

Effective use of the company's inventory management software through daily review of recommended orders/reports to ensure they will not result in under/overstocks; plus maintenance of product lead times to ensure delivery expectations are met. Generation and booking in of works order paperwork for production.

Assist sales teams with supplier related queries & quotes; Work with Accounts to resolve supplier invoice queries.

This is office based 5 days a week.

They are looking for someone who has purchasing experience gained within a distribution, retail or wholesaling environment.
