Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Support compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies. Help prepare for audits and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
  • Conduct regular monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and assist with the resolution of discrepancies.
  • Assist with internal audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for compliance reviews.
  • Assist with KYC submissions, VAT submissions, sales tax compliance within the US
  • Assist with the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting process in relation to capex as well as input into group cashflow forecasting
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information flow, promoting a culture of financial accountability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function, contributing to increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry (however not necessary)
  • Strong understanding of financial control and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics Business Central is advantageous) and Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Jet Reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
