We are seeking a dynamic Learning and Development Manager to work alongside the wider HR / People team in this fast paced, public sector organisation, based in Gloucestershire. As they go through an exciting period of change, the priority is now to ensure the workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional services on the front line. As the new Learning and Development Manager, this role will be solely responsible for the design, implementation and evolution of a range of training and development programs in align with wider HR strategy and organisational goals for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop Training Programs: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to create tailored training programs, from statutory, mandatory training to apprenticeship and leadership development schemes.
- Oversee Training Delivery: Ensure training sessions, workshops, and seminars are engaging and effective, utilising various methods including e-learning, classroom instruction, and on-the-job training.
- Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Establish metrics to assess training programs and gather feedback for continuous improvement and reporting to the SMT.
- Conduct Training Needs Assessments: Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders across HR to identify skill gaps, talent development opportunities and support with workforce planning.
- Manage Budget: Oversee the budget for learning and development activities to maximise impact.
We're looking for a strong self-starter, that's excited by the opportunity to inform change and make an immediate impact within a varied, complex environment with differing learning and training needs. The successful candidate must be flexible and adaptable, enjoying both the strategic and hands-on elements of L&D. This role is hybrid with a minimum requirement of 3 days onsite, however this will vary from one week to another depending on business needs and training schedules.
